Our Client is seeking a High Voltage Electrician Graduate with experience in a mining environment to join their team. This role focuses on the laying of electrical cables, timely processing of routine paperwork, ensuring health and safety standards are strictly adhered to. The ideal candidate will work alongside other experienced electricians to ensure the laying of the cables is done correctly and safely in a mining area. Therefore, previous mining experience will be a highly added advantage.
The successful candidate will be offered training and onboarding before commencing the project which is expected to last between 14-18days. During the induction, the candidate will have to participate in safety training sessions and during the project, be expected to report any safety hazards or incidents promptly.
The candidate may be expected to supervise an assistant along with his team and be able to enforce strict safety policies, conduct safety checks to comply with mine safety regulations and standards.
The position may entail being able to read and interpret simple electrical laying diagrams, and equipment manuals for problem-solving. The project is based in Solwezi and accommodation and meals will be provided. Each day has a 12-hour shift.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
• Must have a full Grade 12 certificate
• Advanced Certificate in Power Electrical or better.
• Minimum of 5 years’ progressive experience, mining experience is preferred.
• Understanding of electrical codes and regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret simple electrical schematics and diagrams.
• Experience with laying high voltage electrical cables will be a plus.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license is plus but not necessary.

Technical Skills:
- Basic understanding of high voltage electrical systems.
- Proficiency in using electrical testing tools like multimeters, clamp meters, and insulation testers.
