Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our finance team at a mining site. The ideal candidate will support daily accounting operations, ensure compliance with Namibian financial regulations, and assist management with accurate financial reporting. This role is suitable for individuals looking to grow their accounting career in a dynamic mining environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Daily Accounting Operations

Record daily accounting vouchers and handle general bookkeeping.

Maintain general and subsidiary ledgers to ensure timely and accurate financial data.
2. Cost & Expense Management
-
Review and verify expense claims according to company policies.

Assist with cost accounting and cost analysis for cost optimization.
3. Tax Management
-
Prepare tax documents and assist with VAT, PAYE, and Provisional Tax filings in line with Namibian tax regulations.

Liaise with NamRA on routine tax matters when required.
4. Cash & Bank Management
-
Handle vendor payments, customer receipts, and all banking transactions.
5. Financial Reporting & Analysis
-
Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Provide financial data analysis to support management decisions.
6. Audit Support
-
Coordinate with local audit firms during annual audits.
-
Prepare audit documentation and follow up on findings and corrective actions.
7. Internal Control & Compliance
-
Implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.

Assist in improving financial processes and increasing operational efficiency.
8. Other Duties
-
Perform any additional finance-related tasks assigned by management.

Requirements
Educational Background
-
Diploma or higher in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, or related field.

NQA-recognized qualifications or CPA/ACCA certification are an advantage.
2. Work Experience
-
1–3 years of experience in accounting or finance.

Knowledge of Namibian tax laws, labor regulations, and compliance requirements is an added advantage.
3. Technical Skills
-
Proficient in accounting systems (Pastel, QuickBooks, SAP, etc.).

Strong Excel and data processing skills.
-
Good document management and filing abilities.
4. Language Requirements
-
Strong command of English (spoken and written).
-
Mandarin Chinese proficiency is a plus, especially for Chinese-invested companies.
