Practical experience in the daily running and upkeep of the vessel and its deck machinery.

  • Mooring/Anchoring: Assisting with the preparation and execution of mooring and unmooring operations.
  • General Deck Work: Participating in deck maintenance tasks such as chipping, painting, washing, and cleaning to preserve the vessel's structure.

  • Equipment Maintenance: Assisting with the routine maintenance and checks of deck machinery, including winches, cranes, and specialized offshore equipment.
  1. Safety, Security, and Emergency Response

Ensuring the vessel is prepared for any eventuality and adhering to strict maritime regulations.

  • Safety Drills: Active participation in all safety drills, including fire-fighting, abandon ship, and man overboard.
  • Safety Equipment Inspection: Assisting the officers in the routine inspection and maintenance of Life-Saving Appliances (LSA) and Fire-Fighting Appliances (FFA) to ensure full readiness.
  • Security Watch: Performing security duties as per the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code, such as gangway watch and monitoring access.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Becoming familiar with and adhering to International Maritime Organization (IMO) conventions like SOLAS (Safety of Life at Sea) and MARPOL (Marine Pollution).
  1. Training and Administration
  • Training Record Book (TRB): Diligently completing and documenting all required training tasks and practical experience in the official TRB.
  • Administrative Support: Assisting the Chief Officer with various administrative tasks, paperwork, and documentation relevant to the vessel and crew.
  • Learning: Proactively seeking knowledge and guidance from all crew members to build a comprehensive understanding of all shipboard operations.
  1. Cargo and Port Work
