Description

  • Ensure delivery and quality of required services to Packaging department & Plant operations.
  •  Coach and support team members in using the correct problem-solving techniques (such as 5Why, etc.) to solve situational problems
  • Check and ensure that team members carry out required quality checks and that the information is recorded on the appropriate systems. 
  •  Ensure that team members understand and adhere to the operational, quality and process standards, work instructions and maintenance schedules, work practice deployment plans and performance targets
  •  Carry out quality trend analysis to identify problems and decide on appropriate course of action
  • Develop team members and ensure that training needs are identified and closed out via one-on-one's and performance reviews
  • Ensures that team members implement and adhere to divisional standards
  • Review and sign off of shift performance (QCDSM) and ensuring that all required administrative tasks in support of the production team are carried out
  • Ensures that the line is ready for maintenance and that it starts up on time post maintenance
  • Prepare for the daily shift meeting by reviewing past shift performance and identifying issues for team discussion
  • Ensure that waste reduction and process improvement goals are incorporated into team goals, and the team understands these goals
  • Ensure that improvement goals are tracked and displayed in meeting rooms.

Requirements

  • Grade 12

Technical diploma (N6) in Mechanical, Electrical or Instrumentation and/or 3 year relevant technical/production related tertiary qualification

• Engineering degree (Mechanical or Electrical) will be an added advantage

Three (3) years technical and leadership experience in a FMCG environment

Understanding of The Manufacturing Way / WCM / Lean practices and principles

• Thorough knowledge of all aspects of Packaging processes and Critical Equipment

• Proven Leadership skills and management capability

• Attention to detail and commitment to quality

• Excellent interpersonal, communication and Problem Solving Skills

• Understanding of SHE policies and procedures

• Ability to identify gaps and initiate improvement activities

• Ability to train and coach own team.
