The role involves direct, front-line interaction with walk-in customers — including butchers, small food producers, chefs, and culinary enthusiasts to provide advice, sell products, and assist with order processing.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Sales & Service

  • Greet and assist walk-in customers at the sales counter with product information and recommendations.

  • Sell a wide range of products including spices, marinades, sauces, butcher equipment, casings, vacuum machines, and packaging supplies.

  • Guide customers in selecting the right products based on their food preparation needs, especially for meat processing.

  • Provide hands-on product demonstrations or usage advice when required.

Order Processing & Transactions

  • Capture and process customer orders, quotations, and invoices accurately using POS or ERP systems.

  • Handle payments, returns, and exchanges in line with company policies.

  • Ensure timely follow-up with customers regarding order collection, special requests, or backorders.

Product Knowledge & Support

  • Maintain a strong understanding of the company’s full product range, including technical specifications and food applications.

  • Offer practical guidance on how to use products such as sausage casings, meat marinades, spice blends, and related tools.

  • Keep up to date with new product arrivals, seasonal promotions, and special offers.

Store Presentation & Inventory

  • Keep the sales counter area clean, organized, and well-stocked.

  • Assist with stock counts, shelf replenishment, and merchandising.

  • Report low stock levels or customer demand trends to the branch or procurement team.

Requirements

Skills & Competencies

  • Passion for food, especially meat products and their preparation.
  • Friendly and professional demeanor with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Sales-driven with a customer-first attitude.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work accurately with orders and inventory.
  • Basic computer literacy and knowledge in Pastel Partners will be an added advantage.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Namibian citizen
  • Grade 12 matric
  • Training or a qualification in food service, hospitality, or retail is an advantage.
  • 1–3 years’ experience in a counter sales or retail environment, ideally in foodservice, hardware, or butchery supply.
