Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Forklift Diesel Mechanic to maintain, diagnose, and repair diesel-powered forklifts and other material handling equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, knowledge of diesel engines and hydraulics, and a commitment to safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and leadership.
- Organize and delegate in workshop.
- Mechanical duties- includes diagnose, repair and inspection.
- Delegate ordering of parts to storeman.
- Report work progress to office for follow-ups to clients.
- Daily job keeping- carry out all tasks and duties associated to position (including reasonable instructions not forming part of job description).
- Carry out routine service/maintenance of company’s machines and vehicles.
- Follow up on work results.
- In charge of problem solving- comebacks/problems.
- In charge of workshop operations in co-operation with head mechanic.
- Share in responsibility of workshop personnel’s progress/work/comebacks.
- Safety and risk management- Ensure the safety of yourself and workshop personnel.
- Welding/cutting when required.
- Thorough completion of job cards, books of spares, PDI forms.
- Dealing with customer service issues (queries).
- Responsible for workshop equipment.
- Traveling- delivery of spares, equipment, forklifts around Namibia.
- Maintaining the highest quality of work performance/jobs.
- Achieve customer requirements for product quality, specifications, delivery, and customer satisfaction.
- Teamwork-Effective communication with workshop employees and warehouse manager.
- Respect to manager and fellow colleagues.
Requirements
- N3 Qualification in Diesel Mechanics or any related field.
- A minimum of 5+ years trade experience.
- Valid CE Driver’s License
- Knowledge of Forklifts is a must.
