Electrical Design and Estimation Officer

We are seeking a competent and confident individual to join our team in a role focused on the drafting, design, costing, and quotation of electrical assemblies. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing technical designs for electrical panels and assemblies, selecting and applying suitable electrical equipment, quantifying project scope, and compiling accurate client quotations. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, practical commercial awareness, and the confidence to engage professionally with clients and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Draft and design electrical assemblies, panels, and related electrical systems in accordance with project requirements and applicable standards.
• Interpret client requirements, specifications, drawings, and technical information to develop suitable design solutions.
• Select and specify appropriate electrical equipment and components for each design.
• Prepare bills of materials and quantify the full scope of work for electrical assemblies.
• Calculate design-related costs, material costs, and associated project requirements accurately.
• Compile clear, accurate, and commercially viable quotations for submission to clients.
• Present quoted solutions in a professional and confident manner to clients when required.
• Liaise with suppliers, workshop staff, project teams, and clients to ensure technical and commercial alignment.
• Review designs and pricing for accuracy, completeness, and feasibility prior to submission.
• Assist with revisions, value engineering, and technical clarifications during the quotation and project process.
• Maintain proper records of drawings, costing schedules, quotations, and design revisions.
• Ensure all designs and proposals align with company quality standards and relevant electrical regulations.

Minimum Requirements:

• Relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Trade, or a related technical field.
• Proven experience in drafting and designing electrical assemblies and distribution boards.
• Good knowledge of electrical equipment, components, and panel layouts.
• Experience in costing, quantifying scope, and preparing quotations for clients.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
• Strong numerical ability and commercial understanding.
• Good communication skills with the ability to deal confidently with clients and colleagues.
• Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and own reliable transport.
