Description

We are seeking a dynamic, hands-on, and results-driven Dealer Principal to oversee our daily dealership operations in Windhoek. The Dealer Principal will hold full accountability for managing and aligning all departments, including Sales, Parts, and Workshop. This role requires strategic business planning, strong leadership, and operational coordination to achieve profitability, maximum efficiency, and excellence in service delivery. The ideal candidate will thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment, utilizing a directive yet collaborative management style to foster a safe, respectful, and highly productive workspace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Leadership: Oversee the daily operations of the sales, parts, and workshop departments to ensure seamless coordination and peak performance.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute strategic business plans to drive dealership profitability, market share growth, and operational efficiency.
  • OEM & Stakeholder Relations: Build, nurture, and maintain highly sustainable, collaborative relationships with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).
  • Customer Relationship Management: Interact directly with customers to build long-term, trusting relationships and ensure the highest standards of customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Team Management & Culture: Lead with a hands-on, directive, and team-oriented style. Treat all staff members with respect to cultivate a safe, pleasurable, and motivating work atmosphere.
  • Financial & Administrative Oversight: Manage dealership budgets, analyze performance metrics, and maintain strong administrative controls to meet business targets.
  • Technical Compliance: Utilize a strong understanding of diesel mechanics to support workshop efficiency and ensure top-tier commercial vehicle maintenance standards

Requirements

Education

  • A Technical Degree from a recognized tertiary institution.
    OR
  • An N3 Technical Qualification accompanied by subsequent professional training in leadership, sales, finance, or parts management.

Skills & Experience

  • Industry Experience: Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in a similar Dealer Principal or senior management role at a commercial vehicle dealership.
  • Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of the commercial vehicle and heavy equipment industry landscape within Namibia.
  • Technical Aptitude: Practical knowledge and skills in diesel mechanics to effectively oversee workshop operations.
  • Core Competencies: Exceptional negotiation, administrative, and financial acumen.
  • Communication Skills: Superb interpersonal, written, verbal, and listening skills to effectively engage with corporate stakeholders, staff, and clients.
  • Adaptability: Proven ability to remain flexible, adaptable, and composed under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
