Auto Electrician

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair electrical faults on earthmoving and construction machinery (excavators, graders, loaders, dozers, etc.)

• Install, maintain, and service electrical components including starters, alternators, lighting systems, wiring, sensors, and batteries

• Work with GPS, telematics, and control systems (e.g. CAN bus, ECUs)

• Conduct preventative maintenance and respond to on-site breakdowns

• Use diagnostic tools to identify and resolve faults efficiently

• Ensure compliance with site safety procedures and electrical standards

Skills & Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience as an Auto Electrician in the earthmoving or heavy equipment industry

• Strong understanding of electrical systems in mobile plant machinery

• Skilled in reading electrical schematics and using diagnostic software/tools

• Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team

• Reliable, safety-conscious, and physically fit for site conditions

Certifications & Qualifications:

• Qualified Auto Electrician (Certificate or Trade Papers)

• Valid driver’s license (HR/MR an advantage)

• Construction safety card (e.g., OSHA, CSCS, or equivalent)
