Description
A leading supplier in the food and meat processing industry is seeking a passionate and driven Counter Sales Representative to join their in-store team. The role involves direct, front-line interaction with walk-in customers — including butchers, small food producers, chefs, and culinary enthusiasts to provide advice, sell products, and assist with order processing.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Sales & Service

Greet and assist walk-in customers at the sales counter with product information and recommendations.

Sell a wide range of products including spices, marinades, sauces, butcher equipment, casings, vacuum machines, and packaging supplies.

Guide customers in selecting the right products based on their food preparation needs, especially for meat processing.

Provide hands-on product demonstrations or usage advice when required.
Order Processing & Transactions

Capture and process customer orders, quotations, and invoices accurately using POS or ERP systems.

Handle payments, returns, and exchanges in line with company policies.

Ensure timely follow-up with customers regarding order collection, special requests, or backorders.
Product Knowledge & Support

Maintain a strong understanding of the company’s full product range, including technical specifications and food applications.

Offer practical guidance on how to use products such as sausage casings, meat marinades, spice blends, and related tools.

Keep up to date with new product arrivals, seasonal promotions, and special offers.
Store Presentation & Inventory

Keep the sales counter area clean, organized, and well-stocked.

Assist with stock counts, shelf replenishment, and merchandising.

Report low stock levels or customer demand trends to the branch or procurement team.
Requirements
Skills & Competencies
- Passion for food, especially meat products and their preparation.
- Friendly and professional demeanor with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Sales-driven with a customer-first attitude.
- Attention to detail and ability to work accurately with orders and inventory.
- Basic computer literacy and knowledge in Pastel Partners will be an added advantage.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Namibian citizen
- Grade 12 matric
- Training or a qualification in food service, hospitality, or retail is an advantage.
- 1–3 years’ experience in a counter sales or retail environment, ideally in foodservice, hardware, or butchery supply.
