Description

  • To ensure that all vehicles are debriefed on its return to warehouse, all collections are completed and all parcels are received as per the waybills and collection job cards.
  • Debrief drivers on their return from collections ensure all parcels are correct as per the waybill.
  • Ensure all parcels are weighed and identified before staging.
  • Ensure parcels are properly packed and wrapped.
  • Communicate vehicle requirements to the Dispatch supervisor.
  • Control, monitor and action the work in progress area.
  • Supervise the in and out going freight on the apron.
  • Recon the trip sheet against the waybills every night at close of business.
  • Receive parcels when they are being delivered.
  • Ensure all drivers know when dispatched that they are to receive correct paperwork.
  • Ensure the documentation is correct i.e. Invoices for cross border collections.
  • Ensure all parcels are counted and offloaded and trucks parked at the back before the driver’s clock out.
  • Ensure that all PDA’s are signed in and out daily.
  • Ensure that all line haul and local loads are debriefed and closed timeously.
  • Assist the Operation Controller in dispatching and planning.

Requirements

 

  • Grade 12 certificate or equivalent.
  • Logistics and Supply Chain Management or Transport Management related qualification.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in the transport industry, with a minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role.
  • Computer literate and able to utilize Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook proficiently.
  • Able to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Good understanding of Logistics industry.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Work under pressure.
  • Must be able to work long hours when required.
  • Must be reliable and honest.
  • Good organizing and planning skills.
