Description
The Driver Instructor at our client is responsible for ensuring that all drivers operate within regulatory standards and that all vehicles are maintained in optimal condition. This role involves evaluating driver performance, monitoring compliance with delivery procedures, and fostering a culture of safety and professionalism within the driving team. The Driver Instructor will also be responsible for the continuous training and assessment of drivers to enhance their skills and ensure adherence to best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Driver Training and Assessment:
- Conduct comprehensive training programs for new and existing drivers, focusing on safe driving practices, vehicle operation, and regulatory compliance.
- Evaluate drivers through practical driving assessments and theoretical evaluations, providing constructive feedback and guidance for improvement.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and regulations to ensure training programs reflect current best practices.
Vehicle Standards Monitoring:
- Conduct regular inspections of vehicles to ensure they meet safety and operational standards, including maintenance schedules and necessary repairs.
Compliance Oversight:
- Ensure strict adherence to delivery procedures and regulatory requirements at all times.
- Assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures related to driver operations and vehicle maintenance.
Performance Monitoring:
- Monitor tracking systems to assess route efficiency, delivery timelines, and vehicle performance.
- Analyze driver behavior reports, identifying trends and areas for improvement; provide feedback to drivers aimed at enhancing performance and safety.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of training sessions, assessments, inspections, and driver performance metrics.
- Prepare detailed reports on training outcomes, vehicle inspections, and compliance audits for management review.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay informed about advancements in driving education, safety regulations, and technology in vehicle tracking and monitoring systems.
- Suggest improvements to training programs and operational procedures to enhance overall efficiency and safety.
Customer Service:
- Foster a positive relationship between the driving team and other departments, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Address customer feedback related to deliveries and driver behavior, providing solutions to enhance service quality.
Requirements
- Grade 12
- Drivers License
- English- Read and Write
- Social Skills- ability to work with different ethnic groups
