Electrical Site Technician / Engineer

Our client is seeking a Electrical Site Technician / Engineer. This role requires the Electrical Site Technician / Engineer to provide on-site technical supervision, quality assurance, and engineering support for the construction and commissioning of a large-scale Solar Photovoltaic (PV) power project.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and inspect all on-site electrical works, including PV arrays, DC/AC wiring, MV/HV systems, substations, and SCADA.
• Ensure compliance with design specifications, international codes (IEC, IEEE, NEC), and local regulations.
• Conduct QA/QC inspections, review technical submittals, and verify material quality.
• Provide field engineering support, resolve technical issues, and interpret electrical drawings.
• Oversee testing, commissioning, and system integration of inverters, switchgear, transformers, and monitoring systems.
• Monitor site safety (LOTO, arc flash protection) and ensure progress aligns with project schedules.
• Collaborate with civil, mechanical, and project management teams to integrate works across disciplines.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or National Diploma + 2 years’ experience.
• Minimum 5 years in design, construction, or commissioning of utility-scale solar PV projects.
• Strong knowledge of PV system design, MV/HV equipment, and international codes.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD/PVsyst and experience with BESS or grid integration (advantageous).
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Contract: 6 months.
