Description

This senior Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily operational activities of the logistics and transport business, including general freight, mining, fuel, and bulk liquid services. This role ensures effective resource management, compliance with industry regulations, and delivery of high-quality services to clients.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and manage daily logistics and transport operations, including fleet, warehousing, dispatch, and scheduling.
  • Develop and implement efficient operational strategies that improve productivity and reduce costs.
  • Oversee all company functions including operations, finance, safety, compliance and payroll.
  • Liaising with Group Human Resources on all Human Resources, IR and union interaction matters.
  • Lead and mentor cross-functional teams to ensure timely and safe delivery of goods and services.
  • Maintain compliance with transportation laws, safety standards, and hazardous material regulations (where applicable).
  • Monitor KPIs and operational metrics to drive performance improvements.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and utilization of all logistics assets, including vehicles and equipment.
  • Enhance client satisfaction through excellent service delivery and responsive communication.
  • Work closely with executive leadership to support the company’s strategic initiatives.
  • Promote safety culture and ensure adherence to environmental and regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Namibian Citizen.
  • Experience in fuel distribution and mining.
  • Experience in Industrial Relations and union interaction is a must.
  • All round business acumen in financials, marketing, HR/IR and Vehicle Maintenance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transport Management, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • 10 years of experience in logistics and transport operations, with a minimum of 8 years in a management role.
  • Strong knowledge of general freight, fuel transport, and bulk liquid logistics.
  • Experience in handling and transporting dangerous goods.
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
