Description
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Junior Chef to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have formal culinary training and a passion for preparing high-quality meals. Under the guidance of senior kitchen staff, the Junior Chef will assist with food preparation, cooking, plating, and maintaining hygiene standards. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified chef looking to grow their skills in a dynamic and professional kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals according to established recipes and standards
- Support the Executive Chef in daily kitchen operations
- Ensure cleanliness and hygiene in all food preparation areas
- Maintain proper storage and rotation of food supplies
- Follow all health and safety regulations
- Assist with inventory checks and stock control
- Contribute ideas for new dishes or menu improvements
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Requirements
- Culinary qualification from a recognized institution (e.g., diploma or certificate in professional cookery)
- 3–5 years of experience in a professional kitchen (internships or practical training acceptable)
- Basic knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen equipment
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work under pressure and take direction from senior chefs
