Mandarin Translator – Twin Hills

Our Client is currently recruiting for a Mandarin Translator to join our growing project team in Namibia.

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Mandarin Translator will provide accurate written and verbal translation services between Mandarin and English, supporting effective communication across project teams, contractors, clients and stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery.

The tasks you'll perform

• Provide accurate verbal interpretation between Mandarin and English during meetings, site discussions and project engagements.
• Translate technical, operational and project documentation from Mandarin to English and vice versa.
• Facilitate effective communication between local and international teams to ensure project objectives and timelines are achieved.
• Support site personnel, management and contractors with day-to-day communication requirements.
• Maintain confidentiality and accuracy when handling sensitive documentation and information.
• Assist with cultural and business communication practices to support collaboration across diverse teams.
• Prepare and review translated reports, correspondence and presentations to ensure consistency and quality.
• Coordinate with project teams to ensure translation deliverables are completed within required deadlines.

• Tertiary qualification in Languages, Translation, Linguistics or related discipline preferred.
• Fluent in both Mandarin and English (written and spoken).
• 3+ years’ experience in translation and interpretation services within a construction, mining, engineering or EPCM environment preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across multicultural teams.
• High level of accuracy, professionalism and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced project environment and manage multiple priorities.
