Description

Duties for the Senior Manager: Administration is to oversee the control environment within medical scheme administration. The key purpose of this role is to review and implement robust controls to ensure valid, accurate and complete processing. This will include monitoring claims payments and contribution transactions processing, evaluating, and managing risks, ensuring compliance with regulations, analysing scheme data, and coordinating internal and external audit processes.

The role will further aid the company in maintaining growth, implementing proper internal controls, and improving efficiency in support of the organisational strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversight over all processes that require robust financial controls (claims payments, raising contributions and reconciliations).
  • Follow-up and clear all variances in a timely manner.
  • Implement and monitor rigid internal financial controls within operations.
  • Streamline operations.
  • Monitor and improve the credit control process,
  • Work closely with and ensure accurate reporting to Scheme Finance,
  • Identify issues that will impact financial reporting and suggest appropriate solutions.
  • Coordinate the collation of and review of data required for regulatory reporting,
  • Analyse data and communicate emerging trends to Executive Management,
  • Participate in budget and costing processes,
  • Evaluate and manage risk,
  • Coordinate internal and external audit processes,
  • Ensure that there are appropriate and robust quality control processes at all stages of transaction processing,
  • Perform additional skill-related duties as required,
  • Maintain and improve Standard Operating Procedures.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Commerce Accounting degree,
  • Post graduate Management Accounting qualification,
  • Financial operations experience of at least 10 years,
  • Outstanding knowledge of controls and procedures,
  • Medical aid premium collection experience will be an advantage,
  • Strong debt management experience.

  • Affinity for transactional financial IT systems.
