Description

We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee the execution of mining and construction projects. The Site Manager will be responsible for managing day-to-day site operations, ensuring mechanical works are completed safely, on time, within budget, and according to project specifications.

This role requires strong leadership, technical knowledge, and proven experience managing teams and contractors on large industrial or mining projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee all site activities, ensuring compliance with project plans, specifications, and safety standards.
  • Coordinate and supervise contractors, subcontractors, and project teams.
  • Monitor progress, quality, and cost control to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget.
  • Implement and enforce site safety protocols in line with statutory and project requirements.
  • Review and interpret technical drawings, ensuring accurate execution of works.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, identify risks, and resolve issues promptly.
  • Report progress, challenges, and milestones to project management and clients.
  • Lead site meetings and maintain clear communication between all stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Recognised degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 7–10 years’ experience in site management on mining, construction, or heavy engineering projects.
  • Strong leadership skills with proven ability to manage large teams.
  • Solid knowledge of project management, scheduling, and site operations.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Registration with the Engineering Council of Namibia (ECN) would be an added advantage.
  • Safety certification (e.g., SAMTRAC, NOSA, or NEBOSH).
  • Previous experience on Namibian or Southern African mining projects.
  • Ability to work independently under pressure while maintaining strong client and team relationships.
