Description

The Social and Gender Expert will ensure to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the construction projects. Analyze social and gender dynamics, develop inclusive policies, and ensure compliance with equity goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct gender and social assessments.

  • Develop and implement Gender Action Plans (GAPs) and social inclusion strategies.

  • Support stakeholder engagement, especially with marginalized and vulnerable groups.

  • Build capacity of project staff and partners on gender and inclusion.

  • Ensure monitoring and reporting of gender and social indicators.

  • Ensure compliance with donor and national social safeguard policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Social Sciences, or a related field.

  • Demonstrated 5-7 years experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects.

  • Experience in Namibia is essential; prior involvement in donor-funded projects is an added advantage.

  • Proven expertise in addressing Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (SEA), Sexual Harassment (SH), Gender-Based Violence (GBV), and Violence Against Children (VAC).

  • Experience in implementing Grievance Redress Mechanisms and facilitating community and stakeholder consultations.

Contract Duration: 18 months
