Description

The Purpose

The Store Manager is responsible for store sales, product, inventory, and systems knowledge, leading the impeccable execution of retail planning and ensuring the consistent application of business controls.  This includes ensuring the success of the store in meeting financial and service targets.

Key responsibilities:

  • Ability to take management’s instruction and ensure the proper dissemination of business imperatives to staff, ensuring the appropriate understanding and timeous execution of business plans and monthly targets.
  • Ensure the store staff comprehend and comply with the policies and procedures of the business.
  • Ensure accurate and timeous daily reporting on your store status and compliance requirements  to the relevant internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure all in-house retail displays are quality-controlled & brand-aligned, including the hygiene and the appearance of the store staff.
  • Ensure daily and weekly sales targets are met for the store. Consistently Increase store revenue by driving an exceptional customer service experience.
  • Ensure store stock is managed diligently for the efficient trade of the store. This includes that stock is ordered timeously, and as per your store sales insights (accuracy of size curve, SKU, and color wave as per discussion with your stock controller).
  • Ensure risk aversion measures are maintained and there is the minimization of store stock loss by influencing store culture to be aligned to the value proposition of the business.
  • Ensure that the time and attendance of staff are as per the scheduling.
  • Ensure consistent knowledge of business information,  become  a subject matter experts on the products, systems, customer service, sales, merchandising, cash handling, and policies .
  • Conducts morning team meetings to discuss financial and operational performance objectives with all staff.
  • Ensures that finance processes are adhered to consistently, and executed correctly by managing cash-ups, refunds, and store banking.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A minimum requirement of a completed Grade 12 with an excellent command of Namibian languages.
  • An excellent application of computer skills.
  • Desirable to have a degree or diploma in retail/ sales management or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in retail with preference being 2 years experience in a similar management role.
